Description
To obtain the real time governance of the PACS functions, the Government of India (GoI) decided to digitalize the records, data and service delivery mechanism through NABARD with the support of states. With the support from NABARD, Telangana state has started the computerization project in the year 2016 and within a short span of 2 years, the project was completed. At this juncture, Telangana was the first state in the country to complete the 100% digitalization process of the PACS. All the 900 plus PACS have started their business activities digitally across the state. By executing digitalization, PACS can provide improved customer services by the way of reduced human errors.
As the state is the pioneer in digitalization of PACS in the country and could be role model to other states, the Apex bank would like to evaluate the computerization process and its implementation with the following objectives:
- To evaluate the process of computerization of PACS in Telangana and its impact
- To find out the gaps in implementation and suggest suitable recommendations to take remedial policy decisions
